Sou Consultor de Gestão na area da ToC (Theory of Constraints - Teoria das Restrições) e Operações, sou Auditor e Formador. Fui Diretor de Operações na Indústria Alimentar cerca de 25 anos, com experiência nas áreas da Produção, Qualidade, Ambiente e Higiene & Segurança, Manutenção, Compras e Logística/ Supply Chain. Tenho 7 anos de experiência na Indústria Automóvel num dos fornecedores principais de OEM. Os meus clientes provêm da areas; alimentar, têxtil, energia, aviação, FMCG, retalho, logística e agro-industrias. Tenho experiência internacional como associado da Goldratt Consulting (Brasil, Portugal) e nos mercados Polaco e Angolano onde efetuei projetos vários projetos de melhoria.
Trabalho com a ToC desde 2003 e sou membro certificado da TOCICO. Tal como muitas outras pessoas encontrei acidentalmente o livro de Eli Goldratt "A Meta" e esta foi a obra que até hoje mais me impressionou em termos de negócios. Considero a ToC como a "rainha" das metodologias de gestão e melhoria organizacional e aquela mais radical e disruptiva na sua abordagem.
Sou Autor/Co-Autor de oito livros sobre a ToC nas áreas Geral, de Operações (Produção), de Distribuição, de Projetos e de Apoio à Decisão.
Tenho também conhecimentos de Lean Manufacturing (antes TPS) e de Six Sigma (antes TQM) e nos últimos anos tenho integrado e aplicado estas melhores metodologias numa abordagem TLS (ToC, Lean, Six sigma) que penso ser a melhor forma de atacar e resolver os problemas sistémicos das organizações. Tenho experiência de ensino e formação nestas áreas desde 2007 e esta abordagem interessa-me em vários tipos de indústrias e serviços, tendo desenvolvido um curso MBA online sobre TOC em 2016, em parceria com a CLT Services.
A minha formação base é em Engenharia Química (IST) tenho um MBA em Gestão Geral e um Mestrado em Gestão (ambos NOVA SBE).
I am a Management Consultant specializing in ToC (Theory of Constraints), Operations and Systems, as well as an Auditor and Trainer. I spent about 25 years as Operations Director in the Food Industry, gaining experience in Production, Quality, Environment, Health & Safety, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Logistics/Supply Chain. I also have 7 years of experience in the Automotive Industry, working with a main OEM supplier. My clients come from food, textile, energy, aviation, FMCG, retail and agro-industry sectors. I have international experience as an associate with Goldratt Consulting (Brasil, Portugal) as well as in Poland, and Angola markets, where I have conducted several improvement projects.
I have been working with ToC since 2003 and I am a certified member of TOCICO. Like many others, I accidentally came across Eli Goldratt’s book The Goal, which remains the most impactful business book I have ever read. I consider ToC the “queen” of management and organizational improvement methodologies—both the most radical and the most disruptive in its approach.
I am the author or co-author of eight books on ToC covering General, Operations (Production), Distribution, Project, and Decision Support areas.
I also have knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (formerly TPS) and Six Sigma (formerly TQM). In recent years, I have integrated and applied these best practices through the TLS approach (ToC, Lean, Sixsigma), which I believe is the most effective way to tackle and solve organizational problems. I have been teaching in these areas since 2007, and this integrated approach interests me across a wide variety of industries and services. In 2016, I developed an online ToC MBA course in partnership with CLT Services.
My academic background is in Chemical Engineering (IST), and I hold an MBA in General Management and a Master’s in Management (both NOVA SBE).
