The Trouble with Elephants

About the Book

What happens to people when their organisations create unsafe environments? What happens when organisations don't support (or even punish) people for having complicated lives? What happens to us when we are stuck in (or under) a power structure?

What might happen, if people started to listen? If people started to learn? What if we started to see our resources as humans? Messy, chaotic, complex, brilliant humans. What if we didn't have to get (or take) the most from our people, but they gave their best, willingly, because they were no longer stuck in a power structure, but supported to really be the best they can be and want to be?

The Trouble with Elephants explores what on the surface, look like the kind of people we have all worked with at one time or another. But just like those people we knew, or thought we knew, everyone has something going on in their lives. Based on over 3 decades of research into psychological safety, team effectiveness and leadership The Trouble with Elephants will show you how messy humans, with all their challenges are a pain to control, which is exactly why that is precisely the last thing you need to do.
