The intent of the book is to solve three problems :

1. Most people are not aware of the business problems which could be solved should an altcoin become widely used
2. Most people find it difficult to distinguish between honest altcoin projects and dishonest ones (i.e. scams)
3. Should an altcoin fail to succeed in the market, which is highly likely given the high attrition rate of startups, the methods proposed to solve business problems in the altcoin's whitepaper may be easily forgotten. It is possible that the methods are sound and could be implemented by a later, successful altcoin project.

The author's DYOR (which in cryptocurrency circles means "Do Your Own Research") is presented in the book. He makes no claims as to whether he personally believes that a particular altcoin should be supported or shunned; instead he merely presents the data, fully sourced, so that the reader can more easily use that data to either make up her mind about the coin or to supplement her own DYOR.
