About the Book
Install and operate the Artemis HDSM/HDSD Memory Gateway Plugin for OpenAI ChatGPT on Windows. Work through Google Cloud configuration, the memory spreadsheet and BotRegistry, Apps Script, a Drive folder, the local MCP server and ngrok. Configure Google sign-in for the MCP connection, create the personal ChatGPT plugin and add its gateway operating instructions. Verify memories and documents using returned records and identifiers, then follow the daily startup and update procedures. This plugin installation connects directly to Apps Script. External records are saved deliberately; the gateway does not automatically preserve every detail of every ChatGPT conversation. The guide contains the installation resource links.

About the Author
Phillip Rowland Nakata brings decades of enterprise architecture, software engineering, and integration experience to the design of AI-agent systems. His career includes serving as Chief Technology Officer and Transformation Architect for IBM’s Sales Force Transformation initiative, with responsibilities spanning business planning, technology strategy, development, and delivery.
His work on the Artemis HDSM/HDSD memory gateway applies that systems perspective to persistent memory and shared-document access for agents. In this guide, he focuses on connecting an existing OpenAI Agents SDK agent to a Windows-based memory server, with attention to the services, credentials, routes, and checks that make the integration work.
Phillip’s broader work in Responsible AI informs his emphasis on explicit storage, understandable system boundaries, and observable behavior. He treats persistent memory as a component that must be deliberately configured and maintained. His aim is to help readers build continuity into agent workflows while understanding the distinction between stored information, retrieved documents, and the agent’s current conversation.
