Jim Holmes

Jim retired after several decades in various corners of the IT world following 11 years as an enlisted aircrew radar technician in the US Air Force. During his IT career, he held many roles from network (LAN and cross-country) administration to Vice President-level positions. He worked as an independent consultant, managed software product teams, and spent time as an executive consultant. His work spanned helping software teams in global enterprises improve their ability to envision, deliver, and maintain software of all sorts. He was well-known for diving into proverbial dumpster fires and help bring order from chaos.

He was perhaps best known for focusing on people in and around his teams, helping them grow and succeed in their own careers.

In his retired life, Jim works with various non-profit volunteer organizations supporting refugees in southern Oregon. He also exercises the creative side of his brain via painting miniature models. You can find him on any given day playing with his dogs, lifting weights, practicing for firearms competitions, or smoking brisket.
