Oz, a long time contributor to Kubernetes and many other Open Source projects, always found computers interesting. Unlike many in the computer industry, his path to the tech industry was though the geology department, where he worked on software to model chemical reactions in groundwater.

After graduating with a Master's degree in applied geology from the University of Tübingen, he turned to work on High Performance Computer systems and developing automation software. Eventually, he worked in a few startups in Munich. Finally, he decided to embark on a solo consultant career, where he helps organizations adopt cloud native computing.
