Nelson Mesias is a Filipino‑Canadian artist, front desk clerk, and storyteller based in Victoria, BC.

His work explores migration, memory, grief, and the emotional landscapes of everyday life.

A night‑shift worker by necessity and an artist by instinct, Nelson began painting quietly in the corners of his life — on breaks, after long shifts, and in the small hours when the world was asleep.

His art has since grown into a deeply personal practice rooted in love, loss, and resilience.

He lives with his husband Brian and their two dogs, Mac and Zoe, who appear in many of his paintings and in the heart of his story.

The Quiet Art of Moving Forward is his first book.
