Maarit Laanti, Ph.D., is a pioneer in Agile Hardware development and in using artificial intelligence as an accelerator for product development. Since 2006, she has helped organizations transform how they build products, working hands-on with engineering teams rather than from the sidelines.

In 2023, Maarit founded WikiAgile, where she works as a transformation consultant and has published three whitepapers on Agile Hardware development. She brings more than 12 years of independent consulting experience across software, ICT, marine technology, financial services, and manufacturing, alongside a strong international product development background built over two decades at Nokia.

Maarit is one of the early pioneers of scaled agile methods. Her 2013 doctoral research at the University of Oulu has since been cited over 800 times, placing it among the top 10% most-referenced works in the field. In 2013, she co-founded Nitor Delta, bringing SAFe to the Nordic countries and personally training more than 10,000 people. She is a SAFe Fellow and contributor, has been named among Finland's 100 most influential IT figures by Tivi five years running, and is included on the LIA100 list recognizing the world's most significant contributors to lean and agile thinking. In 2024, she co-authored Yritysketteryyden käsikirja (The Enterprise Agility Handbook) with Nora Backman.

Since 2021, Maarit has collaborated with Joe Justice to develop MobAI® and CadenceFree® — practices for AI-era product development now deployed in real organizations. She completed MIT Sloan's "Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy" program and is a trainer for AI 1000 – Kasvua tekoälystä, the national AI Finland program helping Finnish business leaders identify and launch strategic AI projects.
