Dr. Iyad Abu Doush
Iyad Abu Doush is a Professor in Computer Science at the American University of Kuwait. Dr. Abu Doush is a consultant in Technology Accessibility and an invited expert in Mada (Qatar Assistive Technology Center). Dr. Abu Doush is an ABET program evaluator (PEV). Dr. Abu Doush has received his BSc. In Computer Science from Yarmouk University in Jordan in the year 2001. In 2001 and 2005 respectively he has awarded a scholarship from Yarmouk University to study M.Sc. and Ph.D. in computer science. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department at New Mexico State University / USA in 2009. In April-2009 he Awarded Merit-based Enhancement fellowship from graduate school for outstanding service to New Mexico State University as a teaching and research assistant. Dr. Abu Doush has supervised and advised several senior projects and master theses. Dr. Abu Doush served as coach and committee member in the ACM Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest for three years and the Kuwaiti Collegiate Programming Contest for two years. Dr. Abu Doush has been funded several times to research his areas of expertise from different agencies including USAID, Microsoft, King Abdullah II Design & Development Bureau, Deanship of Research & Graduate Studies at Yarmouk University, and Jordanian Scientific Research Support Fund. Dr. Abu Doush secured a fund to establish the first accessible computer laboratory for people with disabilities in northern Jordan at Yarmouk University. Dr. Abu Doush has published more than 50 articles in international journals and conferences. Dr. Abu Doush was selected to serve as a visiting researcher in the universities of Malaysia, Lithuania, and the USA. His research interests include Optimization Algorithms, Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, and Accessibility.
