Giuliano Marodin
Dr. Marodin is the Continental Chair Professor in Operations & Supply Chain at the Management Science Department, Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. He is also the President of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) College of Operational Excellence. Before joining USC, Dr. Marodin was a Visiting Professor at Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. He received his PhD and master’s degree in industrial engineering and a BBA degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He also worked at the same university as an adjunct professor for the Business School and for the Industrial Engineering Department, and he taught at several Master degree’s programs in Brazil. He has more than 11 years of industry experience working as an operations management/lean consultant for his own consultant company, Kybernetics Consulting, and for Lean Institute Brasil (a member of the Lean Global Network). His research interests are in Lean and Operational Excellence in Supply Chain and Operations. He has published more than 45 papers in important academic journals and presented in several conferences. He mentored 64 senior capstone consulting Lean Six Sigma in projects in the last 12 years, with client validates cost saving that surpass U$65 million dollars.
