Emil Ivanov

Emil Ivanov is an author with more than 30 years’ professional experience in banking and strategy consulting, including senior executive roles in the UK and Ireland. That work required structured problem-solving, rational decision-making under uncertainty, and close attention to evidence and the consequences of decisions.

At the same time, experiences in his personal life that did not fit easily within his existing rational worldview led him to a long-standing investigation of consciousness and direct experience. He came to recognise a tension familiar to many analytically minded people: they may rely on rationality in their work and decisions, yet encounter aspects of life that do not yield easily to rational explanation.

A Spiritual Book for Rational People grew out of this investigation. It does not ask readers to choose between reason and inner experience, or to substitute belief for evidence. Instead, it offers an open-ended framework for examining consciousness through careful self-observation, logical analysis, comparison across earlier traditions and modern theories, and engagement with the strongest sceptical objections.

Emil is also co-author of Leading Without Winging It: A Guide to Navigating 30 Timeless Leadership Issues.
