hazardous materials compliance. He is a registered professional engineer (PE) in Fire Protection Engineering and
Fire/Life Safety Code Expert located in the Southern California
Region. He works hard to ensure that the life safety goals are met for the people and property he is hired to protect.
In an effort to expand the knowledge of fire protection engineering, Mr. Duval has developed and currently teaches three (3) fire protection engineering courses offered through UCSD Extended Studies (MAE-40039, Building Code and Life Safety, MAE-40037, Principles of Fire Protection Engineering, and MAE-40040, Fire Protection Design). He is
also working with MeyerFire. LLC in developing fire protection videos, training, and courses.
Mr. Duval built his experience in Fire Protection Engineering from a diverse background. He has experience in the development of national codes and standards, design and review fire protection systems (including but not limited to; fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, smoke control systems, fire-rated construction systems), installation oversight of fire protection/alarm systems, hazard assessment and risk analysis, and special hazard knowledge. Lastly, he has the unique ability to break down complex concepts and topics to easy to chewable and digestible bites, making it easier for everyone to increase their own fire life safety knowledge base.
