aid yessimova is a young author, researcher, and human rights activist from central asia, kazakhstan. she began writing at eight, and now, at 26, continues to explore her voice. raised in a conservative kazakh family, she embraced her uniqueness. her curiosity and courage inspired this book, shedding light on the lives of queers in kazakhstan, including her own story.
