Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Juanita Jones is an educator, artist, poet, and writer who obtained her MA from SNHU and her BA from Cabrini University after graduating from Philadelphia High School for Girls. Juanita does pull from her own life experiences- which includes homelessness, murder, domestic violence, orphan's court, blended families- for her writing. Her poetry has been recognized internationally and locally since high school. She has two published poetry collections A Glimpse of Today Poetry Pictures and Life in Motion Gathered in Poetry she is releasing on LeanPub. Juanita has a non-fiction guide Taking Down a Bully, which grew out of her and her daughter's bullying case against the Philadelphia School District. Then there’s her first fiction novel, The Plan, which she will be releasing one chapter at a time on LeanPub within weeks along with her new poetry collection.
