About the Book
Why do we believe what we believe?
The Physiology of Faith explores faith not simply as a set of ideas, but as a process taking place in the human brain. It examines how beliefs are formed, protected, reinforced, and sometimes defended even when they are challenged by evidence.
Written in clear and accessible language, the book explores the psychological and physiological mechanisms behind belief and introduces the idea of the “guardian of the mind”—the mechanisms that help protect established beliefs from doubt and contradiction.
The book invites readers to look beneath the content of individual beliefs and ask a deeper question: What happens inside us when we believe?
