About the Book

What this Book Is

The focus of this book is to be:

  • A book to be read with enjoyment. Any resemblance to the writing style of Clive “Max” Maxfield is purely intentional!
  • A guide to examples of using SysML v2 models to support actionable output
  • A guide to examples of creating a product that is directed by modeling data
  • An introduction to connecting SysML v2 models to external systems for further tangible product development, with examples
  • Another guide to the Syside Editor, Modeler, Automator, and Sysand beyond Sensmetry’s documentation at https://docs.sensmetry.com
  • A guide, with examples of use of the SysML v2 REST API for connection to an external production system such as SciML[1] (Julia[2]) for actionable output

What this Book Is Not

The focus of this book is not to be:

  • A tutorial for Sensmetry’s Syside or Sysand products
  • A tutorial for SysML v2
  • A tutorial on HTTP verbs or the REST protocol
  • A tutorial for Python or its environment
  • A tutorial on REST API and external production systems (that would be a book for another day)
