GhostAI Studio uses the same GhostAI skills that sit in the GhostAI Drawer in the Leanpub editor. In the drawer, you choose a skill and run it yourself, one at a time. In GhostAI Studio, an interviewer runs them for you.
It works like the world's most patient podcast host, who interviews you and knows what to do with what you say. It asks you one question at a time, follows up on your answers, and keeps track of everything you've told it, so each next question builds on the last.
Your book begins with your ideas. You don't need an outline, a stack of notes, or a finished argument. You need what you already have: years of experience, opinions you can defend, and things you've learned the hard way. GhostAI Studio helps you find that material and give it shape, and you sign off on all of it.
Omakase
GhostAI Studio doesn't make you pick from a menu. It's omakase.
I love visiting Tokyo. A few years ago, I had the best sushi dinner of my life there. It was dimly lit, with eight or ten people at an L-shaped sushi bar. The chef made each piece, put it out, and told you in a sentence what it was and where it was from. You ate with your hands. He put the first piece out and said, “Hands.”
It wasn't “which of these hundred kinds of sushi, and in what order?” It wasn't a conveyor belt. It was: have this thing, then have this thing, then have this thing. I didn't make a single decision. The whole meal said: I've thought it through, I'm the sushi chef; you are the person who gets to enjoy being here.
It was on rails, a slow, calm theme park ride of sushi, and it couldn't have been any better. I could focus on the conversation and the food instead of a big menu.

Where to begin
Start your book with a conversation
GhostAI Studio is most helpful when you start your book. Instead of starting with a blank page, you start by dropping into GhostAI Studio and having a conversation. Choose “Start with an AI interview” when you create a new book, or open GhostAI Studio from your book's menu in the Leanpub author app.
It's like talking to ChatGPT, but better. Why better? You don't start the conversation. It does. And under the covers, it's GhostAI. On the surface, it's simple:

After you use GhostAI Studio for a while, you might just want to use some of GhostAI's specific skills. To do that, open your book in the in-browser editor you chose, Source or Visual, and use GhostAI from the GhostAI Drawer on the right.

Since the GhostAI Drawer and GhostAI Studio both run inside Leanpub, they both rely on a Leanpub author membership with AI usage. Two author memberships on Leanpub have AI usage: Max Author and Ultra Author. The AI usage in Max Author is very small: enough to kick the tires, a test drive. If you're going to use GhostAI seriously for any meaningful amount of time, you need an Ultra Author membership.
GhostAI Studio runs on the Leanpub AI usage a Max or Ultra Author Membership includes, and there is no separate fee for the interview. Both memberships come monthly, quarterly or annual, and on every term the AI usage arrives a month at a time.
You can also start a book in GhostAI Studio and pick the plan and the term there. The interview starts as soon as checkout finishes.
