Meanwhile, a rival king in a faraway land has threatened to start a civil war unless King Briar grants the hand of his eldest daughter in marriage. Not a problem, except that the eldest daughter is already married, and hardly anyone outside of the Royal Family even knows she exists.

When it turns out that The Queen of the Moonstones was unwittingly the cause of the whole controversy, she is forced to get involved, in spite of the fact that she has no idea what to do, and still hasn't learned the extent of her magical abilities. Will she learn enough to be able to right her wrongs before it's too late?
