About the Book
Padre José Palhano de Saboia foi prefeito de Sobral entre 1958-1962, uma candidatura na época que contou com todo o apoio de Cesário Barreto, pai de Cesar Barreto, comerciante e líder classista, na época. Tudo para enfrentar o líder político Chico Monte. Em 1962, Padre Palhano foi eleito deputado federal, sendo o terceiro mais votado do Estado. Mas teve mandato cassado dois anos depois da implantação do golpe militar. Palhano estudou em Roma. Também foi advogado, radioamador e fundou a Rádio Tupinambá AM. Pilotava aviões do tipo Teco-teco, inclusive fundou o Aeroclube de Sobral.
