This is a reprint of the project report which I submitted as part of the MSc degree requirements at Birkbeck College, University of London in 1974.The neural network model that it describes is still of interest, and I am currently exploringits potential using computing technology that is many orders of magnitude more powerfulthan that available in 1974.
Marr's model of cereblear cortex is a biologically inspred associative mmeory that learns much faster than most current ANN models.
