About the Author
Elio Vittonetto è nato a Torino, dove ha lavorato e tuttora vive, dedicandosi ora ad attività artistiche. In gioventù, guidato magistralmente, si è dedicato allo studio del pianoforte (che suona tuttora) e si è preparato, nel contempo, alla professione tecnica.Ha sempre operato sia in ambito progettuale sia in ambito artistico. La sua attività di progettista, nel corso degli anni ’90, ha avuto modo di mettere a frutto gli aspetti artistici della sua preparazione, svolgendosi presso l’Arredo Urbano della Città di Torino.Suoi sono, tra l’altro, il ridisegno della Piazza Carlo Alberto, nel rispetto della storia del luogo e nella considerazione delle sue funzioni attuali, e del progetto artistico della nuova e attuale cancellata dei Giardini Sambuy di Piazza Carlo Felice, antistanti la stazione di Porta Nuova. Artisticamente si è formato con gli esempi che gli provenivano da un ambiente familiare di ramificate e consolidate tradizioni pittoriche. Alcune sue mostre personali manifestano un particolare carattere della sua attività pittorica: paesaggi, archeologia industriale e luoghi dove il lavoro si svolge in ambienti di grande valore storico e artistico. A lungo ha infatti rivolto la sua attività di ricerca pittorica operando presso il Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali, già Ospedale Maggiore di S. Giovanni Battista e della Città di Torino, e la Reggia di Venaria Reale.
