About the Book
Logic2Code: 100 Original Programming Challenges is a collection of carefully designed programming problems created to strengthen logical thinking, algorithmic reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
The challenges range from beginner-friendly exercises to more demanding problems and are intentionally independent of any particular programming language. They can be implemented in C, C++, Java, Python, C#, MATLAB, or virtually any general-purpose programming language.
Rather than relying on advanced data structures or specialized algorithms, the book emphasizes fundamental programming concepts such as variables, operators, selection statements, loops, nested loops, arrays, strings, functions, pointers, structures, dynamic memory allocation, and file handling.
One of the distinguishing features of this book is the breadth and originality of its problems. The challenges draw inspiration from areas such as mathematics, number theory, computational geometry, probability, numerical computation, strings, arrays, bit manipulation, randomized simulation, cryptography, and algorithmic puzzles.
Each challenge is designed not merely to test programming syntax, but to encourage readers to think carefully about the underlying logic of a problem before translating that logic into code.
The book is suitable for:
Whether you are learning programming for the first time or looking for unusual problems to sharpen your computational thinking, Logic2Code offers 100 opportunities to think, experiment, and develop elegant algorithmic solutions.
About the Author
Dr. Nadeem Iqbal is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at The University of Lahore, Pakistan. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and has around two decades of experience in university teaching, research, and academic leadership.
Over the years, he has taught a wide range of computer science courses, with particular interest in programming fundamentals, discrete mathematics, data structures, algorithms, cybersecurity, and computational problem solving. His research work has resulted in numerous publications in international journals and conferences, particularly in the areas of information security, image encryption, chaotic systems, and computational methods.
Dr. Iqbal has a strong interest in developing programming problems that encourage students to think beyond syntax and focus on the underlying logic of a solution. His teaching experience inspired him to create Logic2Code: 100 Original Programming Challenges, a collection designed to strengthen algorithmic reasoning, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
He believes that becoming a good programmer begins not with memorizing a programming language, but with learning how to think computationally.
