About the Book
Campus Fabrics are an important part of today's software-defined network world. SDN Controllers are often used to deploy the underlying technologies in production, and because of this, labbing the technologies present a challenge to those without access to the appliances.
This workbook aims to provide a labbing option for people who have access to virtual environments in order to give hands-on experience with LISP and VXLAN, two technologies which underpin campus fabric solutions such as Cisco's SD-Access.
While the workbook does not give access to the controller appliances, it does go into depth on what the technologies do and how they are used. LISP and VXLAN are excellent technologies, though they can be complex to implement.
In this expanded workbook, we build on the basic campus fabric introduced in the Basic workbook to expand upon such concepts as fabric to non-fabric routing and inter-fabric routing using an intermediate IP transport. There are four labs contained within that are a continuation of the Basic workbook:
4. Configuring the LISP Proxy xTR (Border)
5. Traffic Between Fabric Sites (IP Transport)
6. Virtual Networks with VRF and LISP Instance-ID
7. Communicating Between Virtual Networks
After completing the tasks in this workbook, you will be able to send traffic between two campus fabric sites using multiple VRFs. Be sure to pick up the workbook solutions guide as well for in-depth configuration and technology explanations!
