Re-ordering authors on the landing page

General

I have two authors set for my book. I am set to the primary author and come first in the list. I also have a second author that is not set to primary and is second in the author list. However on the landing page the second none primary author is listed first.

How do I change the ordering and is it possible to have a second author but not have them listed on the landing page?

Hi Thomas,

Sorry for the delay in replying!

If you go to Settings > Authors (e.g. https://leanpub.com/author/book/YOURBOOKSLUG/settings/authors) you can reorder the authors by dragging and dropping.

In terms of whether you can have a second author and have them not show up currently, no, you cannot do that. If someone's an author, they show up. Frankly, we haven't had this request before, or at least as far as I can remember. Maybe someday we'll add that, but for now, if someone doesn't want to be listed as an author on Leanpub, you can just not add them as an author and have them just contribute to your book without them being officially added as an author. However, they can't be an author (like a full-fledged author with royalties, etc.) without being listed.

Thanks,

Peter

For reference here's a Help Center article on this topic:

How can I change the order in which author names are displayed on the book landing page?

The design's a bit better-looking now:

I have re-ordered as you said and the article says but this has not changed the order on the book landing page. I am the first author in the list of two. However the second author appears first on the landing page.

Tom

Hi Tom,

This sounds like a bug. Can you please post the URL of the book that specifically has the issue, or email it to hello@leanpub.com, and we'll investigate it next week?

Thanks,

Peter
