Essays on Modern C++

About the Book

In 2018, Arthur O'Dwyer started a blog to collect his thoughts "mostly about C++." Many of these thoughts took the form of short essays answering specific questions that he saw people asking over and over. Over the next four years, he published more than 400 blog posts totaling almost 400,000 words.

This book collects a baker's dozen of Arthur's most popular, significant, or favorite essays on C++ from the years 2018–2022. The thirteen essays in this collection cover timeless beginner topics, generic programming, template metaprogramming, and C++20 Concepts. Each essay has been "remastered" for the 2020s and to stand alone in printed form. Some brand-new commentary has been added as footnotes.
