About the Book

This book is ment to serve as an introduction to TypeScript, popular software development patterns and methodologies.

It is for developers with some background in software development and especially geared towards people working with C# and JavaScript development experience, but it is not requirement. This book will not cover all about enterprise development, but give your some basic understanding by focus on front-end development and howto apply this to the enterise.

Enterprised evelopment and design is a broad subject, and readers looking for deep coverage of such would be better to find books dedicated to these topics instead.

Part 1 “Introduction to Enterprise design” Discussing design patterns & priciples, code and concepts.

Part 2 “The road to enterprise” Delves into Test driven development, how to write tests and loosely couple code, all done with TypeScript. Last, the focus will be on Continues Integration and Continues Delivery, by setting up TeamCity running automated Tests and deployment.

Part 3 go through the fundamentals of TypeScript.

Part 4 show the tools and frameworks to get you started.

All code examples will be shown both in TypeScript and compiled to JavaScript. all code examples kan be forked at GitHub.

Each chapter has been designed to stand on its own, without requiring the reader to first read all preceding chapters.

Remember this book is a work in progress.

Ronnie Haakon Hegelund is a Widex A/S (http://www.widex.com) Senior Developer and Front-End Architect based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ronnie specializes in Microsoft Mobile & Web technologies, including ASP.NET, TypeScript and software architecture
