This book is based on an open discussion published in Al-Hiwar Al-Mutamaddin in 2021 about the electronic left. The discussion witnessed significant engagement and deep debates involving a broad group of writers and intellectuals interested in leftist thought in general and the electronic left in particular. This dialogue unfolded on multiple levels; it was not limited to the exchange of opinions but extended to fundamental questions about the future of the left in the digital age and how to confront capitalist dominance.

From this emerged the importance of compiling everything related to this discussion, whether in terms of the theoretical and organizational foundations of the electronic left or through documenting the active debates and significant articles that addressed it, in an independent book. This compilation does not merely aim to spread leftist perspectives on a wider scale; it also seeks to refine and deepen the concept of the electronic left, drawing on Engels' assertion that "Marxism is not a dogma, but a guide to action," which necessitates adapting it to confront modern forms of exploitation. Additionally, this project allows participants and interested readers to revisit the crucial discussions that took place at the time while striving—through this documentation—to establish a comprehensive intellectual reference that enriches leftist discourse on the electronic left and contributes to the development of leftist thought as a whole.

It is possible that some of the ideas presented in those discussions have lost their relevance or become outdated due to rapid technological advancements. This necessitates that leftist forces continuously adapt to these transformations, in line with historical materialism, which, as Marx argued, states that "social relations are formed according to the development of the material productive forces." This reality demands the development of flexible and renewable political and organizational strategies to confront capitalism’s mechanisms and its exploitative nature, while simultaneously employing its technological tools in the socialist struggle. This approach does not imply abandoning principles; rather, it is a practical application of Marx’s thesis in Theses on Feuerbach: "Philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point, however, is to change it." This critical dynamism is what the electronic left seeks to adopt as a revolutionary approach.

In conclusion, this book represents an attempt to sustain the Marxist and leftist project in an era where the battleground is no longer confined to factories but has expanded into virtual spaces where technology dominates. Updating leftist thought by deconstructing the dialectical relationship between technology and capitalism is not merely an intellectual choice but a historical necessity. As Marx warns in his famous quote: "History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce." The question today is: Will the left reproduce the tragedy of theoretical stagnation, or will it succeed in overcoming it through a renewed, scientifically grounded discourse, modern organizational mechanisms that keep pace with technological advancements, and the effective utilization of digital revolution tools as a weapon to write a new chapter in the struggle for socialist liberation?
