The origin: a game

I created a game called Cyber Attacks, which is sort of a cybersecurity variation of the Black Stories game, where you have to guess what happened (in my case, the cyber attack) based on a vague, ambiguous description, the questions you can ask and a couple of hints.

The cards contain:

• The title of the case
• An image illustrating
• The brief description of the case
• 3 hints
• What actually happened (what the players have to guess)
• How to avoid

The last 3 are on the back of the card, not to be revealed to the participants.

Space limitations

The thing is, this is quite some information for the limited space (an A6 size card). That means that I needed to be very selective with the information shared on the cards. But quite often I really had to cut in background information of the cases, just to fit the information on the card, even with a slightly reduced font size. And that’s a pity, because sometimes you need a bit more information.

That’s why I created this e-book: to give you more information than what I could fit on the front and back of an A6 size card and also provide some extra pointers, links to online articles covering the case, to give you different angles to the story.

This e-book is meant as an addition to the card game. For now, this is still work in progress. I will gradually upload extended versions of this e-book.
