In the hyper-fantastical bronze age megalopolis of Pentola, there is little to no distinction between artisanal items and magical items; any item created with sufficient passion and skill is magical by the very nature of the world. A multitude of factions in the city seek therefore to purchase, discover, commission, and otherwise acquire a vast collection of items to be used, investigated, or traded.

A Catalogue Chimerical is a zine of one-hundred-and-forty-four such items described and illustrated by an Aydinlar Cataloguer, a specialist in analyzing and describing these fantastic items for later use. The zine is framed as a sort of magical mail-order catalogue for members of their University back home to acquire items from by spending an amount of votive oil, the currency of the Aydinlar Suzerainty.
