Vibe Coding Stepping Stones
This book is 100% completeLast updated on 2026-10-17

A 3-day path for people who want to code with AI but get stuck before the first line: Python basics in the browser, then a real setup on your own computer, then a page with a data table published on GitHub Pages. No memorizing. You learn to read, run, and check the code the AI writes.

About the Book

On the evening of day 3, you open your own web page on your phone.

A title, a short profile table, and a table that analyzes an open dataset from Seoul by district. Your laptop can be off; the address keeps working. This book is the 3-day path to that moment.

Who it is for

  1. People who want to start coding with AI but have no Python, terminal, or GitHub background
  2. People who have watched vibe coding videos but never finished a project end to end on their own machine
  3. People who want one web address they can show someone

Who it is not for

  1. Anyone who already uses Python and git. This book is the step before that.
  2. Anyone trying to ship a full web service. This book ends with one page published online.

A free sample (the preface, Day 1 chapters 1 and 2, and the full table of contents) is available from the Download Free Sample button on this page, or directly at the sample PDF on buildnwrite.com.

Where beginners actually get stuck

  1. Day one disappears into installing Python. It works on someone else's laptop and not on yours.
  2. The AI writes code, you run it, red text pours out, and you close the window.
  3. You built something, but it lives only on your computer. There is no address to share.

When the AI writes the code, the hard parts are everything around the code: what a terminal is, where a file lives, what an error means, and how to put a page online. This book splits that into three days and walks you through them in order.

What you do each day

  1. Day 1: Python basics in the browser. Nothing is installed on your laptop. Laptops differ in operating system and settings, and starting with installation burns most of the first day on "why does it only fail for me?" In Google Colab you cover variables, strings, lists, conditionals, and loops. Every period ends with a completion check you can verify yourself.
  2. Day 2: Moving to your own computer. You open the terminal, make a working folder, install Python with uv, and run your first file in VS Code. Then dictionaries, functions, and modules. In the last period you hand code to an AI for the first time: you ask it to rewrite something you wrote by hand, then read the generated code and change one line. If installation fails, you keep going in Colab; everything from period 3 on works there too.
  3. Day 3: Build the page and publish it. You ask the AI for an HTML skeleton, pose a question about an open dataset from Seoul, have the AI write the analysis code, check that the result makes sense, put the table into index.html, create a GitHub repository, commit, and turn on GitHub Pages. The last exercise is opening your address on another device.
  4. Appendix. "Errors you met today" (10 error types, what each means, where to look), "When Colab misbehaves", "When installation is stuck", "When deployment fails", and answer keys.

Start with the free 10-minute pre-flight checklist (7 things to check on your computer before day 1).

Next step: the author's agent system

Once your first page is online, the next step is making AI do your work the way you work. The author's agent system is 20 skills, 6 reviewer and worker subagents, and a 6-role one-person operations team, ready to install in Claude Code or Codex. It comes bundled with his other book, The Claude Code & Codex Skills Guidebook ($59). Setup call with the author ($199).

Nothing in this book is memorized. The one skill you build over three days is reading the code an AI wrote, running it, and judging whether the result is right.

Tools. The book uses the Claude app's code tab. If you hit the usage limit, the same prompts work in Gemini's free tier. Pricing follows each tool's own terms. macOS and Windows are both covered; the day 2 installation section is written for each.

How long does a day take? The original workshop ran five periods a day, about five hours. Working alone you may need more, since installation and errors take time. Reading one period a day is fine.

Format and updates. PDF and EPUB, about 96 pages. Leanpub delivers updated files to buyers; I plan to keep this edition current with tool screen changes and corrections for at least 12 months. Leanpub refunds 100% within 60 days.

This is the English edition of a Korean ebook built from a 3-day workshop the author taught in a data analyst training program in August 2026.

Leanpub: 60-day happiness guarantee, PDF and EPUB, and every file update for 12 months after purchase. The Book + Practice Kit package adds the finished files so you can compare them next to yours instead of retyping.

    About the Author

    Jay Jung Lim

Jay Jung Lim taught the 3-day workshop this book is built on, in a data analyst training program in August 2026, and collected the places where real learners got stuck into the appendix.

Jay is the founder of BuildnWrite and an AI agent coach. Since 2023 Jay has run corporate AI training and agent coaching for more than 20 organizations, coauthored "n8n Does It All" (Hanbit Media, 2026), and taught more than 1,000 learners through online courses and reading challenges (as of July 2026). Jay codes with AI every day: more than 6,000 Claude Code sessions since March 2026, and 5,295 commits made with agents between April and October 2026.
