Sander Stad has worked in it since 2003 and has been a database professional since 2007.

He has worked in a variety of industries, from agriculture, financial industries to healthcare.

Sander is married to his darling wife Anne and has three kids. He lives in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands.

He is an active member in the SQL Server community and regularly presents sessions about a wide variety of topics like Automation, DevOps, PowerShell, SQL Server etc.

He's one of the major contributors to the dbatools project and one the maintainer of the projects exceeds him in amount of command he contributed to the project.

He is also the maintainer of several other open-source project like:

- dbaclone: A PowerShell module to clone SQL Server databases

- PStSQLTTestGenerator: A PowerShell module to generate tSQLt unit tests for SQL Server databases

- SSDT-With-tSQLt-Template: A template for SQL Server Data Tools solutions

He is also a Microsoft Cloud and Datacenter Management MVP since 2018.
