Hank began his career supporting x86 hardware. But since has worked in almost every area of IT: networking, security, consulting and development. He has a passion for breath of skills and being a jack-of-all trades. Interestingly,he was working between development teams and operations before 'DevOps' became a moniker. Hank has been coding Ruby and Ruby on Rails since 2006.  He has worked on several large-scale highly available web applications using Ruby, Rails and a variety technologies. He enjoys writing code to solve business problems, "buying versus building" when it makes sense and leveraging cloud services to enable startups and small businesses to effectively accomplish their goals.

Hank lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with his family and enjoys creating music, hanging with friends and learning new open-source technology. On occasion he can be found digging for diamonds in Minecraft with his sons.
