David W. Smith

I don't remember an awful lot about my experiences in primary school, it was many decades ago, however I distinctly remember a classroom field trip one day to the High School computer lab. I can vividly recall the smell of the paper and ribbon ink, the rythmic sound of type bars striking out responses. You see this was the age of the teletype, before the personal computer, keyboards and monitors. From that moment, I was hooked on computing.

Since that time I have programmed many applications in many different computer languages. I am currently an independant developer of web based applications and freelance programmer working in the open source community.
