Currently this feature is not supported, would be really handy if bundle supports adding or removing books so authors can update the bundles to provide updated offers regularly.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for posting about this. A bundle is not an "offer" to be updated by adding or removing books, we're sorry that's not clearer.
A bundle is a product that people buy that contains books that are added individually to their Leanpub library, and to unilaterally remove a book that someone bought from their library would be a very bad thing to do; typically it would only happen if the book or its author or authors were found to have violated our Terms of Service, or something like that.
While we do support adding books ourselves upon request on a case-by-case basis, this is very rare and meant to be additive, not subtractive.
Just in case anyone else sees our reply here in the future, please note as well that the Release Notes feature is meant to announce a significant update to a book, not to announce offers.
Please note the following line from this article https://help.leanpub.com/en/articles/4178568-i-m-publishing-an-in-progress-book-how-can-i-contact-my-readers-when-i-publish-a-new-version-of-my-book-with-a-new-chapter:
"Please note: you are not permitted to use this feature to spam readers with product offers etc. You should only use it when you are publishing significant new content."
Please let us know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
Kind regards,
Michael
Yeah, I agree with that. What I mean offer was like when we have new books related to an existing bundle, say we have a bundle with 3 books on operating system but when we have another new book published recently also related to operating system. At the moment, we have to retire the old bundle and recreate a new bundle to be able to add the 4th book in and update the price. If there is an edit feature that allows to edit bundle but does not change anything for bundle that readers already bought then it would be very convenient.
