As organisations get chaotic, staff and principle engineers exist to help cut through and drive higher value delivery. This book takes hands-on philosophies from both the corporate world and open-source to suggest compassionate and empathetic patterns and behaviours that may help staff engineers make their organisations run smoother. Through stories and case studies, these patterns are demonstrated with reflections for the future.

I wrote this book to help others put some common tools I use in practice: facilitation, incident management, unconferences, analysis, mentorship. All cases where the goal isn't to leverage my abilities, but to help others leverage theirs. We are stronger together through enabling each other to perform better. By removing roadblocks, and building bridge.

Once finished, I plan to release the HTML version for free, with a ebook/print version for some minimal cost for those who might want it. I don't plan for huge success, I just hope I can help others do some things better.
