Eric Chou is a seasoned technologist with over 20 years of experience. He has worked on some of the largest networks in the industry while working at Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and other Fortune 500 companies. Eric is passionate about network automation, Python, and helping companies build better security postures. Eric is the author of the top-selling title, 'Mastering Python Networking' (Packt Publishing). Eric is the primary inventor for two U.S. patents in IP Telephony. He shares his deep interest in technology through his books, classes, blog, and contributes to some of the popular Python open-source projects.

I'm Editor-in-Chief at Packet Pushers Interactive, a tech media company that covers enterprise IT. I co-host several Packet Pushers podcasts including Heavy Networking, Network Break, and Packet Protector. I've covered enterprise IT as a writer and editor since 1998, with a focus on enterprise networks and data centers, cloud computing, and information security.

Before Packet Pushers, I was Director of Content & Community for the Interop conference, where I led efforts to refocus content to emphasize independent, practitioner-focused learning on both core and emerging technologies. Before Interop, I was Editor in Chief at Network Computing, and I've held senior editorial positions at InformationWeek and Network Magazine.

I'm the co-author of the non-fiction book The Symantec Guide to Home Internet Security. I'm author of the novel The Haunting of Edward Drake and co-author of the novel Wasteland Blues.
