This is not a book about how to copy Netflix's architecture. It is a study of how engineering decisions are made under extreme pressure—when scale, real-world failures, and physical limits make any "master plan" drawn on a whiteboard completely unviable.

Based on over a decade of technical archaeology, BehindTheStack reconstructs the platform's actual evolution using public sources: Netflix Tech Blog posts, technical presentations, open-source repositories, and historical records available at the time of each decision. The goal is not to praise the solutions, but to expose the reasoning behind them.
