Dr. Salt graduated from medical school at The Ohio State University and trained at Vanderbilt University Hospitals, where he also served as a Chief Resident in Medicine. He is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. Dr. Salt has had a life-long career focus upon and expertise in IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and most recently, commonly associated gut microbiome dysfunction — including SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and IMO (intestinal methane overgrowth of Methanobrevibacter smithii) — and impaired gut barrier function ("leaky gut").
He bridges the divide between traditional mainline gastroenterology and natural and holistic health disciplines.
