Margaritas
Obviously this is an alcoholic beverage, so drink responsibly. The volumes below will make two good sized margaritas.
Ingredients
| - 90 ml tequila | - 22 ml triple sec liqueur (Cointreau) |
| - 90 g passion-fruit syrup | - 3 dashes of biters |
| - 240 g ice | - 50 g hot water |
| - 50 g sugar |
Instructions
Mix the sugar and hot water together till dissolved and then chill in the fridge. This is a simple-sugar mixture that will act to improve sweetness.
Measure all ingredients into a blender.
To make life easier (for the ingredients measured by weight), place the blender container on a set of scales, zero it and then add the ingredients noting their weight.
Blend until slushy. You can vary the amount of ice and sugar-water to vary the consistency between flavoured ice to liquid.
The choice of passionfruit flavouring will influence your mixture. I have found success with the ‘Shott’ falvouring.
For an extra little bit of fancy, cut open a citus fruit and rub the juice around the outer edge of the rim of the glass you will be serving in. Then rotate the still damp edge through some sugar / cinnamon / salt combination. This will give a nice offset to compliment the tequila.
For extra-extra fancy, place a wedge of lemon or lime on the edge of the glass.
