But naturally, obtaining the PhD involved myriad hijinks and adventures. While I was traveling around doing research I also wrote a great deal about things that weren't part of my PhD--life, love, a sinking houseboat in the Nile. In this book there are tales from London and the southwest of England, from Cairo and Luxor, and from various ports of call in the USA.
