Kyla is an 18-year-old writer who works part time in a bookstore at a college where she will soon attend in the summer to get started on her path to become a sex ed teacher. She has been writing fiction since 5th grade when her teacher at that time encouraged the class to write anything they wanted at all and each student produced a short story a month on varying genres; for Kyla, that year yielded a story where different food items have personalities, a story about a doll that would come to life and go to the theater with the little girl she belonged to, and a story about a little girl who's best friend turns invisible, among other stories. That school year showed Kyla how much she loved to craft stories, especially of the fanciful variety.

Kyla has always been a reader. Even before she could read herself; family members always read to her, leading her to a lifetime love of reading, words, and story. Anybody that knows Kyla has scarcely seen her without a book and, with Kyla, that book usually has a few buddies with it to since she can be so ADD about books and wanting devour as much story as possible. This has led her to start a YouTube channel where she mainly talks about books, but she isn't so good at it.

Kyla is a senior in high school and currently attends an online high school in part due to her social anxiety.

Kyla loves Doctor Who and Sherlock. She got into Doctor Who last NaNoWriMo as a reward for reaching her word count goal and that has just spiraled into a full-blown obsession.

She is an atheist and pansexual which usually gets portrayed in her writing to some extent.
