Alexandre Passant
I'm a sofware hacker, a researcher and and entrepreneur. I'm trying to make the Web a better place, and I'm having fun doing it!
After completing a Ph.D. in Computer Science, I spent a few years directing research on Web 3.0 technologies: social graphs, recommendation systems, personalization, meta-data on the Web, and more.
A natural path - as a record collector and music nerd - was to bring those topics to the music vertical and I then set-up Music & Data Geeks, working on those through our own music discovery platform, seevl.fm and for various industry players.
I traveled the world for hackathons, where I had fun building products with other music-tech enthusiasts, ranging from a bar-discovery app based based on what you listen to, to real-time feedback loops for DJ using their audience heart-beats.
I regularly blog about data-science and engineering, especially applied to music, on http://apassant.net.
