About the Book
There's a lot going on.
Sandy has never seen his family's ancient home, but sets out to find it -- a mole, wandering the wide world. Jeremiah, itinerant sailor, decides to help, and the adventure begins.
A badger and a mole set out to explore the Old West, and arrive in the middle of a bank robbery.
Street cats take on the drug gangs in Torreón, Mexico.
Amy is kidnapped in Russia, and the cats go to her rescue.
Sandy and Jeremiah are attacked and left for dead on an empty island.
And when the beautiful Tharyn walks into a knife fight on a deserted dock after midnight, everything changes.
Amazon offers the print version - click here. The cover painting, illustrating Jeremiah and Tharyn getting their first glimpse of the Oak and the Cliff, is by pastel artist Linée Baird.
Book One, "Barley," is available here as well. If you haven't read that one, the beginning that leads into many of these stories, please do! Take a look, and get both stories in a package here.
About the Author
I spend my days writing about technology, but every now and then I get to pick a banjo, hit a racquetball, produce some video, and even write a story or two! From where? As they say, I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could!
I hope you'll enjoy my stories!
The "Charles, A Dragon" series and the "Oak and the Cliff" stories have lots of humor and talking animals mixed in. People of all ages enjoy them, and there are more sequels in the works.
The first book in the "Cords of Orion" series would be called Christian speculative fiction, a genre expanded most notably by C.S. Lewis, and by many others more recently. Also from a Christian viewpoint, "To Reign For A Thousand Years" offers a fictional exploration of what comes next, framed around some events described in the book of Revelation.
A new set of characters have arrived, Mac & Jennie -- taking on the bad guys with a light touch and plenty of humor, in what you might call light-hearted thrillers.
A new series introduces Lia and her father Harlan, seeking -- and by the end, finding -- a surprising new home.
And the "Short Stories" are a delightful sampling of things that have not made it into print, but are available as a collection in the ebook formats and are free to be read online. Click on the book cover below and look for the "Free to Read Online" button. The table of contents will be on your left. I would particularly suggest "The Flavor Shop," in which four cats (photo included) borrowed my Explorer and went to town for some ice cream...
