About the Book

Everything had changed for 17-year-old Melanie asilyn chambers, after her mom and sister died; her 5-year-old sister had died from cancer, when Melanie was 14. Her 37-year-old mom had died in the car wreck coming back from the mall, 2 weeks after Melanie’s 16th birthday. Her dad lost it a little bit after her sister died, but it was worse when her mom had died. He continuously blamed her. He began drinking to cover up the emptiness and started to beat Melanie for the pleasure of it and didn’t care. She became more to herself and only talked to Jake Masters, kids at school started teasing her even more because she wouldn’t talk to anyone, She became terrified that she would continuously get hurt if she continued to trust people. She stopped trusting people, and built up a wall and pushed people away, but one person. She hid this secret from her best friend Jake. But it was soon to get harder for her to hide, the secret it starts killing her inside. Because she wants to tell him but she just can’t. She doesn’t, want her dad in jail. Will she tell him that her father beats her? Or will she let him believe that she’s fine and her dad is the sweetest person ever? Will Jake be able to save her if he finds out, or will he never find out? And will it be to late to save his best friend? Follow Melanie through her life and journey to find out where she belongs. On the way she will go through hatred, tears, pain, blood, and violence as she tries to get away from her drunken abusive father. Will she ever get away? My name is chelsie, I'm 16 years old. I'm a small southern town girl, I began writing when I was in middle school and have been writing ever since. Now I"m in high school I continuously write everyday. My family always comes first and so does my faith. My book was just a creative story until I got deeper into it and it just became a book. My sister was an inspiration she helped me get into writing so i've always thanked her for that. Because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be writing. Other than writing, music, photography, are my other main hobbies.
