The general concepts of the WordPress framework are brought into practical context by explanaitions in the context of an exemplary knowledge management system architecture:
- the use and configuration of plugins,
- the encapsulation of new reusable functionality in plugins,
- and adding functionality to the WordPress theme using a child theme (code snippets).
The exemplary architecture uses:
- the current WordPress core v4.0,
- the current CMS-compatible WordPress theme KnowHow v1.1.6 by Chris Mooney (Hero Themes),
- and many current CMS-related WordPress plugins.
