About the Book
Eighteen year old SUMI HARUSAME travels from her home planet Kaien to Theriesian 8 to complete eight years of compulsory service required by Kaien’s membership in an intergalactic treaty. The treaty pledges support for other member worlds should any member become threatened by worlds outside the alliance. The period of service is meant to evaluate the skillsets of young adults Sumi is expecting to work as a concierge, a character in a medieval world that supports paying customers enjoy exploring a dream life in a virtual world. However, Sumi soon finds herself with an unusual rank, complete with a plot of intrigue against her for reasons that test her both physically and mentally. Her successes with these challenges lead to alliances with others that have been quietly waiting for a leader, or they are beguiled by her genuine compassion for them. With these allies she is able to foil the ambitions of LORD DESMOND, whom intends to use the service of others for his own personal gain.
