About the Book
From Angkor Wat to Koh Rong: Our Adventures with Two Kids in Cambodia is a raw, honest, and often funny travel diary of a European family navigating temples, tuk tuks, tropical sickness, and toddler negotiations across Cambodia.
Over two weeks, we explored ancient ruins, floated through jungle rivers, bonded with locals, and tried our best not to throw up in every bathroom in Southeast Asia. Sometimes we failed. Sometimes we even found peace—on hammocks, in kayaks, or while sipping a well-earned beer at the end of a long, loud day.
This book isn’t a polished guidebook or an Instagram-filtered fantasy. It’s for parents wondering if travel with kids is worth it (it is), for travelers curious about Cambodia beyond the tourist trail, and for anyone who’s ever tried to find hot soup, cold showers, or a clean toilet in the tropics.
We didn’t always agree. We didn’t always sleep. But we came back with stories worth telling.
About the Author
I am a C++ software craftsman with strong Python working in the tourism and hospitality industry and an enthusiastic blogger writing about coding, books, and the importance of stoic philosophy in a software developer's life.
I moved to software development from database operations which means that I don't just care about delivering a product as fast as possible, but I do understand the importance of stability and maintainability.
I'm passionate about delivering clean solutions, but I find even more important to help my teams to constantly raise the bar and to (re)focus on quality and clean code. I do this by explaining how high-quality work will help them in their individual careers, by introducing more meaningful development processes and automation and by teaching them industry best practices.
