The glass filled with water has attributes like shape, material composition, water quantity, water quality, source of water, air quantity, air quality, germs on the glass, finger prints on the glass, who owns the glass, who made the glass, source of silica (raw material of glass), date of manufacturing, date of buying, emotions attached to it and so on. The answer depends on who is The Observer and which aspect of subject (in this case the glass half filled with water) is given importance to.

This connection between Observer and their Observation of the particular aspect of Observed becomes the basis of their answer to “What is this?” In the example above, the glass half filled with water was defined on basis of who was answering, what aspects they focused on. Similarly, in our life, we experience uncountable things/situations/people etc. How we interpret them depends on our methods of interpretation. Interpretation depends on what we believe, what we hold as truth. And, what is our truth, defines who we are.

This book deals with how and why we interpret the reality around us. It tries to find parallels in our experience and that of people lived throughout space and time. It uses facts to build a narration of story of our perception.
