About the Book
From education to entertainment, from military to media, from love to war, The Internet (or Web) has transformed all with tremendous impact. It is a modern infrastructure that exists as long as we exist. It is evident that the internet changed the way the world used to be. There’s no such thing as “dead time” anymore. In the past thousands of years of human history, nothing like the internet has ever happened. The internet is becoming an important part of our present as well as the future economy, and almost the fundamental part of anything and everything. We connected more socially on the internet than we were pre-Internet. It is vital to understand this important innovation of all time at all micro and macro levels. Not to mention the Web is transforming everything, and no evidence essential. Thus, it is high time we learn what is happening around us, the future direction of all facets of the web.
This book serves as the introductory material for students, Internet enthusiasts and tech people on outlining Internet from many aspects. Is The Web just one another technology? No. However, the Web is what human and technologies have built together. What this book will serve is just touching the web on many facets, an introduction. In other words, it contains a collection of ideas that shapes the web from a level of 10,000ft. No math or programming experience required.
Despite current technological advances, we are still unable to predict what would be the Web’s next paradigm shift. However, the research directions of many universities, regulators and internet companies are transforming the current Web into an intelligent one. The highest degree of intelligence of the web is called Wisdom-web. That is the ultimate goal, where everything connected to the Internet or web will be ubiquitous. The book has my personal understanding of collection of ideas, facts, and findings from different range of research areas. The book’s approach is that a certain freedom of my imagination have been included which frees me to follow the intuition, the “gut feeling” about how the future would shapes the system (the web) without worrying about justification or math proofs and have questioned the older ideas within the modern context.
