About the Book

There's a few things you need to know about me, first and foremost: 

• I'm not really an interesting person.
• In fact, I'm your average teenage girl. Well, almost.
• No, the almost isn't that I have supernatural powers or that I'm a secret government agent.
• In fact, it's something that the general public doesn't know about, yet, it's not really something special.
• They have help centers for my kind of issue. And hotlines. And there's a law about it.
• Drugs? Depression? Suicide? No, no, and no. I'm still not contemplating those yet - I don't consider my life so devastatingly bad.
• Then what is it? Well, it involves my home life. I think that's a pretty good hint to you.
• But my parents aren't alcoholics or druggies or hippies or anything strange. They're lawyers and they're pretty normal people. 
• Well, almost. My mother is a bit difficult, but she's not about to be sent off to any mental asylums anytime soon
• Still haven't figured it out? Well, I'm an abused child. 

I don't know if that necessarily had the effect like a bomb being dropped or a lightbulb going off into your head, but it's not something you hear everyday, unless, you're one of those therapists or on the other side of the hotline. But now you know. 

About the Author

Jin Ni

I don't when I started to love writing. But ever since I did, I've always dreamed of becoming an author, and inspiring people through my words. I wasn't expecting to become any Suzanne Collins or J.K. Rowling, but I still hoped that people would enjoy the stories I wrote. And so, from that dream, I tried writing a few stories. When those didn't work out, I started The Toy Wars. And it just flowed - the story came to me. Right now, it's still a work in progress. But I hope, one day, it might be on the shelves in the local Barnes & Noble.
